Pulse Tool Torque Adjustments
|
|
There are several basic steps to adjusting the torque on
Uryu Pulse tools. The guide below will walk you
through the procedure whether your tool is front or side
adjusting. |
|
FRONT
ADJUSTING: |
|
Left Hand Thread |
| |
- Unscrew (left hand
thread) Front Casing and remove from tool. You do not
need to remove the quick change chuck. Locate the hex
head adjustment screw through a small hole in the
Front Liner Plate. The highly visible hex head screw
on the Front Liner Plate is the oil plug. Do not
adjust the oil plug.
- Turn the torque
adjustment screw clockwise to increase the torque and
counter clockwise to decrease the torque. Never turn
the torque adjuster all the way in clockwise until it
stops, always back it off about a half turn. Be
careful not to lose the ball between the Anvil and the
Driver Anvil.
- Replace the Front
Casing and test for proper torque.
|
|
Hex Head Fastener |
| |
- Use the correct size
Allen wrench to remove the three hex head fasteners.
Remove the Angle Head Casing. Locate the small hex
head torque adjustment screw on the front of the pulse
unit. The large hex head screw is the oil plug. On
some models the oil plug may be a slotted screw. Do
not adjust the oil plug.
- Turn the torque
adjustment screw clockwise to increase the torque and
counter clockwise to decrease the torque.
Never turn the torque adjuster all the way in
clockwise until it stops, always back it off about a
1-1/2 turns.
- Replace the Angle
Head Casing and test for proper torque.
|
|
Front Plug |
| |
- Use the correct size
Allen wrench to remove plug. Rotate the Anvil until
you find the small hex head torque adjustment screw.
The large hex head screw is the oil plug. On some
models the oil plug may be a slotted screw. Do not
adjust the oil plug.
- Turn the torque
adjustment screw clockwise to increase the torque and
counter clockwise to decrease the torque. Never turn
the torque adjuster all the way in clockwise until it
stops, always back it off about a half turn. On larger
tools back off 2-1/2 turns.
- Replace the front
plug and test for proper torque.
|
|
Knurled Sleeve |
| |
- Pull up Knurled
sleeve from front of Angle Head Casing to gain access
to the opening in the Angle Head Casing. Rotate the
Anvil until you find the hole in the Front Liner
Plate. Locate the small hex head torque adjustment
screw. The large hex head screw is the oil plug. On
some models the oil plug may be a slotted screw. Do
not adjust the oil plug.
- Turn the torque
adjustment screw clockwise to increase the torque and
counter clockwise to decrease the torque. Never turn
the torque adjuster all the way in clockwise until it
stops, always back it off about a half turn.
- Replace the Knurled
sleeve and test for proper torque.

Front Adjusting Basics |
|
SIDE ADJUSTING: |
|
Plastic Sleeve |
|
- Turn the one inch
wide black plastic sleeve to line up the hole in the
sleeve with the hole in the Front Casing. Locate the
hole in the side of the Front Casing. Rotate the Anvil
until you find the small hex head torque adjustment
screw.
- Turn the torque
adjustment screw clockwise to increase the torque and
counter clockwise to decrease the torque. Never turn
the torque adjuster all the way in clockwise until it
stops, always back it off about a half turn.
- Replace the Plastic
sleeve and test for proper torque.
|
|
Knurled Sleeve |
|
- Unscrew (right hand
thread) Knurled sleeve from Front Casing. Locate the
hole in the side of the Front Casing.
- Replace the Knurled
sleeve and test for proper torque
|
|
Side Adjusting Basics |
|
- Some Alpha-T models
are adjusted from the side of the casing. Rotate
the black band until you see the access hole.
|
 |
|
|
|
|
|
- Some small pulse
tools are adjusted internally on the pulse unit itself
after removing the front casing.
