An Overview of the
Three Series of AIMCO Pulse Tools |
|
|
HOW DOES A PULSE TOOL WORK? |
A pulse tool combines the speed of an impact with the repeatability of a
shut-off nutrunner.
- A sealed chamber is filled with hydraulic fluid
- As the chamber rotates after seating, the hydraulic pressure generated
produces torque to tighten the fastener
- The fluid also absorbs the torque
reaction, noise and vibration for increased ergonomics
|
 |
|
WHY SO MANY TYPES OF PULSE TOOLS? |
Since your applications are as varied as
the industries we serve, AIMCO offers several series of tools to
provide the best match for your application and priorities.
|
MODEL DESIGNATIONS:
T - Auto
shut-off model
D - 1/4" hex drive model
S - Inline model
P - Push to start model
C - Angle head model |
Utilize our 260 years of combined field
experience to ensure the right fit for you. Even for similar
applications, your priorities will differ.

|
OMEGA UL AND ULT SERIES |
 |
AIMCO and Uryu's latest generation of pulse
tools incorporates significant improvements to provide the lightest pulse
tool on the market today. Rollers in the driving blade and an
accumulator chamber keep fluid temperature lower for longer life and
better repeatability.
UL models are non shut-off operation for
lightest weight, while ULT models have an automatic shut-off function for
reduced operator influence. Both UL and ULT models provide similar
repeatability when used properly.
- 43 models from 4 - 100 Nm
- More models available soon
- Available in air, electric, and
cordless models
- Available in standard, tightening
monitored, and controlled models
|
|
ALPHA AND ALPHA-T SERIES |
|
Although the Alpha tool launched the twin
chamber motor, it is still unique today. Most manufacturers only
include 6 blades in their dual chamber motors, while the Alpha tools
utilize 9 blades. With a full three
blades fully extended at all times, the powerful Alpha motor reduced cycle
times under load. In addition, the low inertial Alpha series motor
minimizes the potential torque spike on harder joints.
Like
the Omega Series, Alpha non shut-off models offer lighter weight and the
Alpha-T shut-off models minimize operator influence.
All AcraPulse tools with model numbers
ending in "D" come standard with 1/4" Hex quick-change chuck. |

|
U SERIES |
 |
The original U-Series pioneered the assembly
market as the first commercially available pulse tool. Designed for
different fasteners sizes, the U-Series range consists of U-models, UX-models,
and UXR-models. The UX-T and UXR-T
models provide the automatic shut-off function.
- 126 models from 4 - 850 Nm
- Available in air and cordless models
- Available in standard, tightening
monitored, and controlled models
